No Sunday Post

Ok, I feel bad for not posting yesterday. We didn't have much to talk about since I was late for posting last week about our trip to AZ. There's nothing much to write about. We went to the California Science Center today, but I forgot my camera at home (I should really just leave it in my purse). And hopefully tomorrow we can go to the OC Fair. Maybe then next Sunday I'll have some pics to finally post. If anyone wants some Amish Friendship bread starter I will have some in a few days. Let me know! It's so yummy :)

Mini vacation

Well we spent a long weekend in Arizona for the past few days (and I didn't update on Sunday). We went so that my friend Michelle could see Elise. We had a great time there and were able to do quite a bit. First we hung out in Michelle's pool and played. Next we went to the Hall of Fame for Firefighters in Mesa (I think). And lastly we went to a Ghost town and gold mine in Apache Junction. It was a lot of fun. We also saw lots of houses, most of which are quite affordable right now and are considering a move out to Queen Creek, depending on Jared's teaching opportunities. Anyway, here are some pics from the trip.

Of course I have to post a few pics of my beautiful baby getting kisses from Daddy!

I'm going to submit this one to the Beautiful Baby contest on KBIG 104.3. Isn't she just so cute!!!

We accidently came upon the General Patton Museum on the way to Arizona. Jared was thrilled to be there. We just missed it being open by about 45 mintues (thank goodness!)

Here's a picture of Mikey and Jared at the Firefighters Museum. Lots of fun!

Our week

This week was uneventful. We just stayed home and played most of the week and got ready for our yard sale which was yesterday. We didn't make a ton of money, but the main reason for having it was to get rid of all the junk. Now mind you, we still have junk, just a little bit less. The only pictures of Elise I have this week are of her bath and nap times. But they are still cute because she's so cute!

Here's Elise in the bath. Daddy helped :)

All cleaned up!

This is what nap time looks like. Oh the joys of sleep, something Jared and I miss but oh well.

Thanks to Brittney

Yay for Brittney! She taught me how to add music to my blog. If you guys don' t like it... too bad. I love it. Now I need to learn all the other cool things to do on here like she has on hers.

Resolution, even though it's no where near New Years

I decided over the weekend that I need to update at least once a week in here, seeing as many of you have asked to see pictures of Elise. So since she was born on a Sunday, it's my goal to get them out at least every Sunday. I finally have my camera back and am ready to roll. I know it's Monday, but here are a few pics we took today. She is smiling a lot more and I'm enjoying every mintue of it!

I know they aren't very creative, but hopefully in the coming weeks we'll have some fun ones to show off.

This is how she stares at the tv while I'm changing her diaper.

Tried to get a smile but she turned too fast.

Yay! A smile finally :)

And a little half smile.

It's like she wants to talk, but just can't get the words out yet.

She's finally here!

It's taken me forever it seems to get this posted, but our little angel is finally here!

The stats:
name - Elise Joanne Pickett
birthday - Sunday, May 18, 6:47pm
weight - 7 lbs 5 ozs
height - 20 inches

Mom, Dad and Baby Elise right after "coming out of the chute" as Jared would say. She really didn't come out of any shute, they just opened me up and pulled her out.

Daddy and Elise at the hospital napping. Aren't they so cute!

This was Elise's blessing day, only one week after she was born! All the Pickett's were in town and I don't think any of the Alonzo's knew about it. It was a hectic week to say the least.

Here she is napping once again. She's quite the sleeper, but I guess that's what newborns do. Notice the saying on her shirt - Daddy's little princess and it couldn't be more true!

I will post some more pictures later, but this is a good start for me for now. Enjoy!

Baby Showers

I haven't updated in forever and I have 3 showers to add to the blog. The first was my work shower and it was so much fun! We had some great games (poopy candy diapers, guess what the baby food is, and what will the baby look like). And we had tons of great food and lots of people hanging out. The second was with some friends of mine from long ago, my home ward. They were great! It was so nice to see them. I can't believe I've known most of them for almost 20 years! And the last one was my current ward friends. Everyone is so generous in their well wishes and gifts. I couldn't ask for a better group of friends. Thanks to everyone for the showers and gifts and good food and lots of laughs. Now if I could only figure out the blog thing and actually make updates.

Jackie hosting the games with Jared, Ron, Sandra, Chai and lots of others all hanging out having a great time.

This was Tracy Glenn's renditition of what the baby will look like. I think Jared liked this one the most because the head was so small.

This was by Maria and Bill. Love the chest hair!

This was the winner by Linda, Portia and Maggie. She had the cutest hair and even a binki. The only drawback was the hairy chin.

This was by Gunther and Diane. I love the sticker "Little girl to love"!

Jake and Michelle drove in all the way from Phoenix to be there. Love you guys!

Here's the cake. YUMMY!

And another cake. Christy made it from scratch! It was so good...chocolate, white and cherry chip.

Christina was the host along with her mom and Christy for my long time friends from South Pasadena.

Here's the girls from Van Nuys...Lindsey (holding Myles), Krista, Laura and Kady with Tessa. Thanks you all for the parties. They were so much fun!
