I have posted in a while. I was waiting to download some pictures, but work has been so busy that I haven't had time. So I will just write instead. This past weekend I went to Arizona for Michelle's baby shower. It was so fun and great to see her. She is ready to pop any day now and I couldn't be more excited for them. I drove with some co-workers and we had a great time and Elise actually did pretty good most of the time.
While I was there I did some house hunting. Jared was surprised I didn't put an offer in but we talked about it last night and he told me to get the ball rolling. So I'm going to do my homework on this home buying stuff. There seems to be quite a lot of teaching jobs there and I really love the Queen Creek area. I'm so excited to start all of this. Jared hasn't wanted to do it, but I think he's finally breaking down and realizing that LA is just not the place for us and our family. He's scared to move because it's the only place he's ever lived, but I keep trying to tell him lots of people don't live in LA and love their lives. I'm sure he'll enjoy it :)

Oh My goodness, that's sooooo exciting! The only thing I can pull out of the fog of home-buying we're in right now is to get pre-approved for an amount and then look for that price in the area you're looking. And FHA is great cause you only need 3.5% down instead of 10 or 20 for a traditional loan. The drawback: FHA has restrictions on the condition of the house you can buy.
No word yet on our offer for this house. Hopefully soon?
Tell Jared to be a big boy! There is life outside of LA! And it's pretty good & better in some ways too!
That will be so exciting to buy your first house!
And it will be fun to have Michelle and Dawn nearby too! I don't think we'll be moving to AZ! I really love the bay area! And there are also great job opportunities for Nick! He has an interview today for a summer internship!
PS I will update my blog as soon as Nick installs the new iphoto program!
So excited for you guys! I have to say that 90% of the real estate there is better priced and in better neighborhoods than in LA. Most of the places feel like West Hills compared to where we're at now!
Take it from a (mostly) native Arizonian, the place is great. Yes, it's hot. So, you get to complain about it each summer. But other than that, great schools for kids, great home prices, lots of Mormons, and everyone loves to go outdoors. Lots of hikers, campers, etc, and especially people who own SUVs for the right reasons.
Our fave home searching sites have been estately.com, ziprealty.com, and movoto.com.
Tell Jared I still have connections in the Gilbert school district (close enough to Queen Creek) if he'd like some names. :)
Wow!! It will be a new experience to move. And great to have a home!!! We moved to Las Vegas so we could afford a home someday!! Hopefully soon!!! It seems like everyone is moving to Arizona!! Good luck on the house hunt!!
That is so fantastic! I'm sure you guys will find a great house. It just means more people to come visit in Arizona! We miss CA, but we also enjoy so many things that CA can't offer. Good Luck!
Queens Creek is a beautiful area! We will miss you, but it is great out there. Make sure to keep me posted in your blog! Love ya.
